Clinical Director | The Mychal Institute | Corolla, NC
CLINICAL DIRECTOR, THE MYCHAL INSTITUTE, COROLLA, NC: Doctoral
or Master's level clinician with extensive treatment experience in
substance abuse or other addictive disorders or health-related fields (e.g.,
obesity, eating disorders, cardiac rehabilitation, or diabetes
management). Candidate must be licensed or licensable in North Carolina
and must have five years postdoctoral experience (or equivalent
thereof).
The Mychal Institute is a multi-discipline program, opening in early
2008, that treats addiction as a malignant disease affecting body, mind,
relationships, and spirit. The treatment program includes education and
process groups, regular personal contact with a therapist, consistent
review by and involvement with the Therapeutic Team, and opportunities
for personal healing and growth. Science-based best practices will be
integrated with other therapies (e.g., meditation, massage, yoga, music,
art, breath-work, nutrition, experiential) for a varied and
comprehensive treatment experience. The Mychal Institute is located on the beautiful
barrier islands of North Carolina, known as the Outer Banks. The person
hired for this position will be responsible for managing the treatment
component and staff at in Corolla, NC. In addition to supervisory
responsibilities, the position will require performing psychological
assessments, counseling, developing course material, and teaching
classes.
Additional responsibilities may include public speaking and interviews
outside the Mychal Institute. A solid grounding in mindfulness
meditation or other mind/body practices is considered a plus. Research and other
publications are also desirable assets. Salary commensurate with
ability, education, and experience.
